Individual Therapy – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Things are just falling apart–

It’s scary. Life seems to just be happening without your approval!

How are you going to get it all in control?

What’s the solution? Where do you turn? What if you make the wrong decision? What are the consequences? How can things ever be right again?

You try to move ahead – get past it – but there just doesn’t seem to be any way out.

Frustration. Stress. Fear. The pressure of it all is overwhelming. Everything’s bursting at the seams.

You’re losing your mind.

Or are you?

While you can’t control every aspect of the world around you, you CAN take control of how you interpret and deal with the things in your environment.

Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT.

In CBT, the primary focus involves changing the negative, automatic thoughts that come to your mind when you face a scary situation. These negative thoughts can feed into more serious emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety.

If not treated, they could significantly disrupt your home life, work life, friendships, and relationships.

Together, through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, we’ll examine your automatic thoughts – and try to adjust them as needed.

Getting you back in the driver’s seat…

Without therapy, it’s like you’re driving a car with no gas, a GPS set in a foreign language, and gears that won’t shift properly. You may not know how to fix all these issues on your own, but you do know this: you NEED that car to get to your destination.

You’re aware of your problems, you know you have to fix them, but you don’t have the tools to do all the work on your own.

Not now, but you will. That’s where I come in!

Together, we’ll fill your toolbox with strong, specialized, high quality tools. We’ll fill your emotional tank with premium fuel. We’ll reset the language your GPS is speaking, so you can input your destination accurately and get understandable results. We’ll get under the hood to overhaul your transmission so that the gears shift smoothly again.

CBT – more than just a tune-up!

Filling up your emotional gas tank will allow us to address how and what you feel in relation to what’s going on in your life. Those feelings will impact your thoughts and behaviors. Without plenty of high quality fuel, you won’t be able to think and act effectively – to get to your destination.

Changing the language of the GPS helps us assess your thoughts, emotional processing, and communication. Sometimes, when you’re overwhelmed, you can’t understand or convey a message the way it’s meant to be understood. Inability to understand or to be understood affects your emotions and behaviors.

By investigating the gear-shifting issues, we explore your behaviors and actions. Your actions directly play a role in how you feel and think. If we can discover patterns in your behavior, we can make changes by implementing new, more effective or constructive habits; we can change how you react and engage with the world around you.

In this way, thoughts, feelings, and emotions all feed off one another. If one thing isn’t working right, it will affect the rest. But when everything is working well, you can go anywhere you want to go.
